Obey hopes Nobel Prize will jumpstart global warming efforts

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Seventh District Congressman Dave Obey (D-WI), made the following statement today in response to the news that the Nobel Committee had awarded Vice President Al Gore the Nobel Peace Prize for his leadership in attacking global warming.

“Charter members of the flat earth society will continue to deny that global warming is an urgent problem that requires us to drop a business as usual attitude. But let us hope the award of the Nobel Committee to Al Gore will jump start serious efforts to save the planet that sustains us all.”
