Kaseno Appointed Barron County Registrar of Deeds

BARRON January 4, 2006 -- Wisconsin Governor Jim Doyle appointed Joyce Kaseno of Barron Registrar of Deeds for Barron County.

Kaseno, a Barron County Democrat, fills the vacancy created bythe resignation of Republican incumbent Shawn Hanson. Kaseno will serve the remainder of Hanson's term, which ends January 1, 2007. Kaseno has worked in the Barron County deeds office since 2003, most recently as Chief Deputy Registrar and Acting Registrar.

Hanson and real estate clerk Lisa Dennis both resigned after being charged in Barron County Court with felony theft and misconduct in office. Both resigned in mid-December.
