Justice Clifford would
be fair and impartial
On April
3rd we have an opportunity to vote for a candidate for the Wisconsin
Supreme Court that will decide cases fairly and impartially.
That candidate is LINDA
CLIFFORD. She has a stellar record and bases her decisions
on facts and the law. She has ignored outside influences. Linda
Clifford has practiced law in Wisconsin for over 30 years. She
is currently with the firm of LaFollette, Godfrey & Kahn.
Her practice includes civil litigation in media, energy, telecommunications,
environmental, immigration and constitutional law. Prior to
entering private practice, she served as an Assistant Attorney
General with the Wisconsin Department of Justice
Linda
Clifford has received bipartisan support from former Governors
Patrick Lucey(D) and Lee Sherman Dreyfus(R). These two former
governors strongly believe in the importance of an independent
judicial system that rises above partisanship. Because of their
strong beliefs in her qualifications and fairness, they are
serving as honorary co-chairs for the “Linda Clifford
for State Supreme Court Campaign.” Our senator, Russ Feingold,
also believes in an independent judiciary and he also supports
her.
Her
opponent on the other hand, does not have the same standard
of ethics. She has failed to disclose a conflict of interest
in a number of cases. Currently, the Wisconsin Democracy Campaign,
a nonpartisan watchdog group, has asked the Wisconsin Judicial
Commission to begin an ethics probe into a number of her cases.
Also,
Wisconsin voters should be alarmed that outside interest groups
with questionable political ties are pouring money into the
Wisconsin Supreme Court race. They are supporting Linda Clifford’s
opponent. Wisconsin voters need to ask why these special interests
are trying to tell us how to vote.
Let us
demonstrate to them that Wisconsin voters prefer fairness impartiality,
and honesty in their Supreme Court Justices. Keep our court
system fair and honest. Do not tip the balance we have now.
VOTE FOR LINDA CLIFFORD FOR THE WISCONSIN SUPREME COURT ON April
3rd. Please take the time to vote.
