Ziegler declared winner

Two hours after the polls closed, the Wisconsin
State Journal called the race for Wisconsin Supreme Court
Justice in favor of the corporate-backed candidate:
The
bitter and costly race between Linda Clifford and Annette
Ziegler for a 10-year term on the Wisconsin Supreme Court
was coming to its conclusion Tuesday night as Ziegler maintained
healthy lead.
The
Associated Press declared Ziegler the winner at 10 p.m. Ziegler
led Clifford, 60 percent to 40 percent, with about 51 percent
of the vote counted.
Clifford
enjoyed a healthy lead in Dane County, 37,833 to 22,763, at
9:30 p.m.
Clifford
enjoyed the support of a range of Democratic and Republican
backers, including U. S. Senator Russ Feingold and former governor
Lee Dreyfus, a Republican. |
