Focus
the Nation: Join a nationwide wave of environmental teach-ins
The
public is invited to attend a Focus the Nation - 2%
Solution webcast and discussion on global warming
solutions on Wednesday, January 30, from 7-9pm in the Blue
Hills Lecture Hall at the University of Wisconsin-Barron County
Campus and in the Cumberland Middle School. Small group discussions
will offer community members with an opportunity to share
ideas for positive local action.
The
2% Solution is a national, interactive webcast, featuring
Stanford University climate scientist Stephen Schneider, sustainability
expert Hunter Lovins and green jobs pioneer Van Jones of the
Ella Baker Center for Human Rights in Oakland, California.
These experts along with other youth and adult leaders will
facilitate a national discussion of global warming solutions
and related economic opportunities that could revitalize communities
and economies. Discussion will center on solutions that will
help cut global warming pollution by 2 percent per year for
the next 10 years. For more information or to register another

County Democrats. NUe is on W. John St. on the south end of
Rice Lake.
The
movie is free of charge. there will be refreshments. Come
see what all the hubbub is about. The movie focuses on what
happens not to the uninsured in this nation, but peoplewho
believe that they and their employers have paid for adequate
insurance coverage.
