Barron County Courthouse
The meeting was called to order
by Chairman Jim Herrey with 20 present.
Visitors Laurie Broom and Scot Schneider were
in attendance. Laurie is a representative of the Dean for president
group.
Treasurer's Report was read and approved.
Secretary's Report was read. Mary Hubler moved
to approve and Jim Vogel 2nded.
Caucuses will be held at Barron County courthouse
on April 4th.
April 17th will be the 7th District Caucus
at Stevens Point . June 11th is State caucus at Stevens Point
.
Having our meetings on a regular basis in Barron
was discussed, as the library in Rice Lake has been difficult
to book. The N.U.E. office as a possible alternative, will be
checked into by Toby as he works there. Will try to book it
for the 3rd Thursday.
A list of members from the state was circulated
with a request from our chairman to enter our e-mail addresses
and correct any error in our addresses.
All officers need to be elected.
Nominations for Chairman were.Cecil Kippenhan
and Brian Pinkerton.
Cecil Kippenhan was elected Chairman by paper
ballot, Jason Rae and Brian Pinkerton were nominated and elected
as 1st and 2nd Vice Chairs by unanimous ballot.
Secretary Sandra Packenham was re-elected by
unanimous ballot. Treasurer Betty Vogel also accepted another
term and was elected by unanimous ballot.
Our website dues are due in February. Cecil
moved we again pay to continue this valuable tool for communicating
with the community. A second was noted and the motion passed.
Our chairman read a letter he had written to
Dave Obey's office objecting to thinking from a representative
from Obey's office on Social Security.
The food shelf in Cameron was decided upon
to be our permanent contribution site.
Jim Herrey will report to the state on newly
appointed officers.
A letter from Jason Rae in Washington was read.
Laurie Broom reported a meeting on Sunday in
Menomonie for getting out the vote, and a January 8th meeting
at Lehman's to organize the area Democrats for Howard Dean.
Representative Mary Hubler spoke on business
in Madison
Meeting was adjourned with a motion by Mary
Hubler and a 2nd by Jim Vogel
The next meeting will be at the Barron County
Courthouse on January 15th, 2004
