1.
The meeting was called to order
by Vice Chairman, Jason Rae, with 23 in attendance.
2. Sheriff Richie gave a report on a phone
number for the Democratic Party, the cost and where the number
could be posted. The number could be printed in the phone book
and on our website. He would monitor the calls at his home.
He also reported on the Jefferson Jackson Day dinner. The date
has not been set but would like it to be held when Governor
Doyle could be here.
3. Secretary’s Report was given and corrected.
Jerry Schlei will update the database and Beth Ager will work
on the website. John Hunsinger, Dee Taylor, and John Banks are
also on the resolution committee. The report was corrected and
approved.
4. Betty Vogel gave the treasurers report.
It was approved as read. She also read a Thank You from the
Family Readiness Group.
Old
Business
1. Approval was given by the members to get a phone and print
the number as reported by Sheriff Richie. The location for the
phone has not been determined and will be decided at our next
meeting.
2. Jason Rae reported on upcoming events with
Senator Russ Feingold.
3. A presentation on Health Care was given
by Dr. Fred Bannister and a resolution was presented. Jerry
Schlei moved to approve the resolution and it was seconded by
Beth Ager. Motion passed.
New
Business
1. The 7th CD will be held in Ashland, April 30, 2005.
2. Jeff Burhandt and Erikka Knuti gave a report
from congressman Dave Obey’s office. Congressman Obey
will be at WITC in Rice Lake Saturday March 5, 2005 at 9:00
AM.
3. Food Pantry donations will be taken to Barron.
4. Jerry Schlei requested that if anyone has
database information: Membership lists, donors, volunteers,
to get that information to him.
5. Willie Williams invited everyone to a town
hall meeting on the Iraq War at UW-Barron County, Saturday,
February 26, 2005 from 1:00 to 2:30.
6. The Health Care resolution will be published
in area newspapers.
7. Next meeting: March 17, 2005 at Rice Lake
Library, 7:00 PM.
8. Jason Rae reported on his recent trip to
Washington DC.
