Barron County Courthouse
The
meeting was called to order
by by acting Chairman Cecil Kippenhan, with 16 in attendance
including 1 new member and 2representatives from Dave Obey's
office.
The treasurer’s
report was read with a reported balance of $142.75. Accepted
as read.
The minutes of the
last meeting were read, Marlene Raether moved for acceptance
and it was 2nd’ed by Harold Kringle.
Clarrise Fall contacted
the food shelves in the area, and reports that none are in dire
need it was decided to take this months contribution to Cumberland
for distribution to the migrant workers as needed.
Jason Rae Marlene
Raether, and Cecil Kippenhan, reported on attendance at the
state convention. All found it to be interesting and informative.
Cecil brought back with him an assortment of information and
campaign literature from Senator Feingold. It was reported that
the speech by Dave Obey was a highlight of the convention. Next
years convention will be held in Appleton on June 11 and 12.
Raffle tickets for
the fair are now available from Betty Vogel
Jason Rae reported
127 visits to our website since our last meeting, which is the
best we have done since the site was created.
A report was given
by 2 gentlemen from Dave Obey’s office who were with us
for the evening, they plan to be with us for the upcoming fair
and parades, and brought some campaign literature.
A complaint, which
came to the area Democrats, concerning Dave Obey’s office,
was read, and addressed by representatives present with us.
Harold Kringle moved
for adjournment with a second by Sandra Packenham.
