Democratic HQ, Rice Lake
The
meeting was called to order
by Chairman Cecil Kippenhan, with 35 in attendance.
Secretary
and Treasurer's report were read and approved.
All introduced
us, as there were many new people present.
Mary Hubler
reports all is going well with her campaign. Most of the folks
she's talking to are Kerry. She thinks it will be a Democratic
year.
Pam Fall
has been going door to door; finds it encouraging and invigorating.
Tom Richie
reports the ad for the local papers is drawn up and ready to
be submitted to area papers.
It was
reported that $50 - $75 a day is coming in. Motion was made
by Mary Hubler to spend it all. That was voted on and carried.
J. P. Nogues reported on an Edwards rally with 3,000 in attendance.
There will be much activity here on Election Day. We will be
calling people all day to vote. There will be people on street
corners carrying signs encouraging people to vote. We need people
to drive people to the polls.
Jim Herry
reports from District 67 that Jeff Monette is doing well.
Joe Heggenbarth
donated $50 for the ad.
Jason
reports the web site is up and we will receive 2 free months
for our inconvenience.
Mike Moe
reported to us on Hunters and Veterans for Kerry. he is running
an ad and will leave a container for donations at Democratic
headquarters. Mr. Moe spoke out on Kerry as a vet. He will leave
a film here for all to view.
It was
reported that the Spooner rally was attended by 4-500 and the
Ladysmith rally attended by over 500.
Signs
need tog out ASAP, and need to come down as soon as possible
after the election.
All are
invited to the golf course to celebrate with Mary Hubler on
a well run campaign at 8:00 on election night.
New
business:
This month's
food collection goes to the Rice Lake food shelf.
Dave Obey
will be in town all day tomorrow, Friday, Oct. 22. He will be
at Matty's at 9:30., Rice Lake Senior Center ar 11:00, and B.
S. on Main between 5 and 7 in the evening.

Election
of officers in December.
Movie
on campus in Barron, 911, sponsored by Green Party. Mary has
a debate scheduled on campus from noon to 1:00 on Monday.
Our next
meeting is scheduled for November 18 at 7:00 at the courthouse
in Barron.
